H-Pile Splice Attachment

  1. Scarf the outside edges of flanges of H to be added.  Torch cut a 7/8 in. x 2 1/8 in. notch for spacer bar in either driven or added length.
  2. Slip splicer on pile (tap with sledge if needed).  Make 5/16 x 2 1/2 in. fillet weld of splicer to flange at each corner.
  3. Set length to be added on driven H.
  4. Make 5/16 in. (or heavier) groove weld full width of each flange and at each remaining corner.
